House Florent of Brightwater Keep is sworn to House Tyrell, but also known to chafe at their fealty owed to them. The Florents, like the Tyrells, claim descent from the extinct House Gardener, the royal line of the defunct Kings of the Reach. The Florents believe that they have a superior line of descent, and by rights should possess Highgarden. The Florent seat is Brightwater Keep.

Their sigil is a red gold fox`s head encircled by lapis lazuli flowers. They can field roughly two thousand men.

History

With the death of Robert Baratheon and the accusations of incest against Cersei Lannister, House Florent followed House Tyrell in supporting Robert's younger brother, Renly Baratheon. However, upon Renly's death the house switched allegiance to Stannis, and Lady Selyse became his queen. She and Lord Alester were fervent followers of R'hllor, the Lord of Light.

Following Lord Tywin's victory at the Battle of the Blackwater, Tywin dispossessed the Florents of their holdings and awarded them to Garlan Tyrell as a reward for loyal service.
