House Botley of Lordsport is a noble house from the Iron Islands, one of the principal houses sworn to the Greyjoys.[2] Their seat of Lordsport is located on the island of Pyke, at the opposite side of the Greyjoys' keep of Pyke.

Their blazon is a shoal of silver fish on pale green.[3][4] Their words do not appear in the books.

History

Amid a struggle for power after the death of Lord Dalton Greyjoy, Lord Botley was put to the sword by westermen during Lady Johanna Lannister's invasion of the Iron Islands in 134 AC.[5]

The stronghold of the Botleys had been a great structure of timber and wattle, but when King Robert I Baratheon put down Greyjoy's Rebellion, he razed the structure to the ground during a battle at Lordsport. A small square keep of stone was built afterwards.[3] Tristifer Botley became friends with Asha Greyjoy while fostering at Pyke after the rebellion, but he was sent away to Blacktyde after he and Asha were found touching each other by Maester Qalen.[6]

He sees the new keep of the Botleys, full of pale green flags emblazoned with a shoal of silvery fish, and remembers that the last time he saw Lordsport it was a smoking wasteland.[3] In exchange for a horse, Theon takes Wex Pyke, the bastard of Sargon Botley, as his squire. When entering the Great Hall of Pyke, Theon sees some Botleys among his father Balon Greyjoy's captains.[7]

Maron Botley and his three sons are part of Theon's crew on the Sea Bitch. They take part in the harrying of the Stony Shore and quarrel afterwards with Todric over plunder near a fishing village.[8] Theon later captures Winterfell.[9]
