House Swann of Stonehelm is a noble house from the Dornish Marches, in the Red Watch on Cape Wrath. Thay are regarded as proud, powerful and cautious.

The known Swanns during the timespan of the events described on A Song of Ice and Fire are:
- Lord Gulian Swann: Lord of Stonehelm. A mature man.
- Ser Donnel Swann: His son and heir.
- Ser Balon Swann: His secondborn. A skilled knight.
With unspecified familiar relationshp to the main branch there are also:
- Cyrenna Frey: Second wife to Old Walder Frey. Mother to two Freys. Died from a wasting illness.
- Ravella Smallwood: Married to Lord Theomar Smallwood of Acorn's Hall. A nice woman.

- Ser Gawen of House Swann, an old man, competes at the Tourney of Ashford and loses against Prince Valarr.
- Ser Eustace Osgrey boasts that in the past members of important families married Osgreys, citing Swann as one of the examples.
- Lord Swann ignores Dunk's direct request to join him in the trial of seven.

- Balon Swann was one of the outstanding knights on the Tourney of the Hand.
- Ser Balon Swann defeated Alyn during the Tourney of the Hand, but later he fell to Ser Gregor Clegane.
- Ser Balon Swann was among the three finalists at the archery competition of the Tourney of the Hand, losing to a commoner from the Dornish Marshes named Anguy.
- Ser Balon Swann was among the party that acompanied King Robert to hunt, but he returned to King's Landing before his hunting accident with the boar.
- Ser Balon Swann considers Ser Balon Swann as a potential ally to depose the Lannisters from power after Robert's death.
- After the downfall of Eddard Stark, Sansa sees Ser Balon Swann whispering to some words to drunken Ser Dontos, possibly recomending him to refrain from hailing her.
- During the War of the Five Kings, Guilian Swann tries to have on foot on each camp: while he claims to be ill and remains neutral, his firstborn rides with Renly and Ser Balon Swann is loyal to King Joffrey.
- Guilian Swann was one of the few stormlords that agreed to receive Davos Seaworth, and even borke bread with him. He didn't attend Stannis demands, however.
- Ser Balon Swann was reported by Varys to have joked with the remark "We'll need thre cups for that", when Lord Gyles proposed a toast for the king.

- Ser Balon Swann led several sorties during the Battle of the Blackwater, fighting bravely and nobly with his mace. Tyrion sees him spattered with gore and smudged by smoke, and joins him for a sortie against the attackers.
- Ser Donnel Swann was wounded in the Battle of the Blackwater and yielded to Ser Elwood Harte. He was ransomed afterward and pledged fealty to King Joffrey.
