Frogs are included in the arms of House Marsh, and a toad appears in the arms of House Vypren.
Frogs are hunted by crannogmen in the Neck,[1] and Meera Reed wields a slender three-pronged frog spear.[2] Freys claim that eating frogs causes crannogmen to have green teeth and moss growing under their arms.[1][3] Some rivermen believe that crannogmen have webbed hands and feet like frogs.[4]
The Toad Stone, an ancient idol carved from greasy black stone in the shape of a a gigantic toad, can be found on the the Isle of Toads.[5]
History
Meria Martell, Princess of Dorne, was called the "the Yellow Toad of Dorne" by Argilac Durrandon, the Storm King.[6]
