A berry is a small pulpy fruit.

Known variety of berries include: blackberries,[1] blueberries,[2] green berries,[3] raspberries,[4] and strawberries.[5] They can be found on bushes around the known world such as in the woods near Darry,[6] in the countryside along the kingsroad near King's Landing,[7][8] in Wat's Wood,[3] and in the Dothraki sea.[9]
Some berries are not safe for consumption and can be poisonous.[3]
Berries can be eaten raw,[6] with cream,[10] dried,[11] or cooked into meals such as berry tarts,[12] blackberry oatcake,[13] goose-in-berries,[12] and strawberry pie.[14]
Culture
The Lhazareen make sacred smokes and ointments from leaf, root and berry.[15] Dothraki uses green berries to flavor roasts.[9]
House Turnberry from the westerlands has nine strawberries on their coat of arms.[16][17] House Blackberry is a minor Westerosi noble family.[18]
History
Princess Saera Targaryen referred to her friend Alys Turnberry as "Sweetberry".[19]
The sons of Ser Eustace Osgrey loved to pick berries from blackberry bushes in Wat's Wood.[3]
Recent Events
A Game of Thrones
Following her altercation with Prince Joffrey Baratheon, Arya Stark hides in the woods near Darry with her direwolf Nymeria. She only finds berries to eat while away from the royal entourage.[6]
A Clash of Kings
Bran Stark sends a dish of goose-in-berries to Cley Cerwyn at the Harvest feast.[12] Tuffleberry is a servant at Harrenhal who takes care of the brewhouse.[20]
A Storm of Swords
Bran promises himself one day he will repay a hundredfold the Liddle for every nut and berry he shared.[13]
A Feast for Crows
The postern gate on the north side of the Whispers is overun by a huge blackberry bramble.[21]
